December 2024, deciding on the type of the project and kicking of the development work

Based on the results of the study I conducted in November I decided to kick off a project about analytics for online communities.

When I worked in the research lab of LG Electronics many years ago, my boss always said

Good engineers write good code. The best programmers build the code of good engineers.

Writing anything from scratch today is counterproductive and simply pointless. At best, you will spend a lot of time writing something that is already in the public domain for free (or very cheap), but at worst, you will shut your startup down even before the first release.

Following this logic, I found several open source and open license projects, downloaded them and began playing with them. In December, I managed to create a simple prototype of what I wanted to have out of a long list of open source solutions.
