Normalised Reaction To An Announcement
Reaction to an announcement refers to the number of actions that users performed within the announcement post. Normalised reaction allows us to define reaction relative to the reach of the announcement.
Question answered by the metric
What is the scale of the community response to the announcement relative to the number of users who viewed the announcement?
Steps to measure
- Calculate the total number of all actions taken within the announcement post by all users.
- Calculate the reach of the announcement.
- Divide the number of actions performed to the announcement reach.
Interpretation
Usually, when making an announcement, our goal is not just to communicate some information, but also to engage users in a discussion. For example, to get their feedback. Therefore, the more reactions there were to the announcement, the better. For the normalised metric we are interested in the ratio of the number of users who acted in an announcement to the number of users who read the announcement. The high values of this metric indicates that the topic resonates with the users. The low values of the metrics indicates the lack of interest in the topic.
